When I joined the Spanish group, I already sensed how difficult it would be to organize content for people with different levels and accents in Spanish. But Juan enriched us with reflection exercises, dictation, and cultural and political lessons, while at the same time using our opinions as a conversation tool. Through this, he facilitated communication and showed us how to start expressing our views and developing thoughts in Spanish. My experience and Spanish skills have already improved, and now I have to remember his instructions and lessons to develop even more interest in learning Spanish.

Thank you for being our coach, even though we were anything but an easy group. I would especially like to thank you for the time you have dedicated to us, for your patience and your always new ideas.

Working with you and practicing Spanish in our small group has always been a moment of joy for me and a little time out during the week where we talked about all kinds of topics, from food to customs in different countries of the Spanish-speaking world.

Since day one, I have felt very comfortable in your hours thanks to your kindness. I would like to highlight your creativity and your ability to think outside the box (authentic videos, SWOT analyses, difficult topics such as politics). You always had new ideas and interesting activities to involve us in learning Spanish, which made our lessons fun and never boring. Also, your individual approach and attention to our personal needs (as we have different levels of oral, written and reading expression) has really helped me to improve my Spanish significantly.

I would also like to thank you for your passion and enthusiasm for the Spanish language and culture. You have always told us about your experiences and brought us closer to the culture in an authentic and exciting way (I remember the Fallas in Valencia or the wine from Extremadura), which inspired me to learn more about the different cultures of Spain.

In conclusion, I would like to thank you for being an exceptional tutor and helping me on my way to learning Spanish. I really appreciate everything you have done for me and us in your time!

The world is small, in life you always see each other twice

I signed up for Spanish coaching with Juan in 2023. Before that, I had taken a test in which I was assigned the appropriate language level. At that point, I hadn't spoken Spanish for several years.

On the one hand, it was a great opportunity to socialize with other like-minded people who also wanted to improve their Spanish. On the other hand, it was also a great opportunity to speak Spanish regularly again and practice the language.

The courses exceeded my expectations. They were always very entertaining, varied, interactive and creative; from debates on current affairs to grammar exercises and text writing (and homework, of course). Juan has put a lot of commitment, time and creativity into the preparation. You could tell that teaching is his vocation and that he enjoys it at least as much as his students.

I noticed how my Spanish improved over the months and how my language barriers gradually disappeared. The group grew together more and more and became a weekly meeting, which we were already looking forward to at the beginning of the week.

I am very happy to have had the opportunity to participate in Juan's coaching and would highly recommend it to everyone.

The methods and teaching style that Juan uses when teaching Spanish are techniques that I find very helpful as a beginner. During class, Juan strives to speak only Spanish, which forces his students to pay attention and concentrate. In addition, listening and comprehension skills improve because we are listening to a native speaker. New vocabulary is noted and explained every lesson. Grammatical aspects are then also introduced in order to understand the sentence structure. One of my favorite lessons on this topic was the one about "Ser" and "Estar" as well as "Tener" and "Haber". During the one-hour lessons, students do exercises to fully understand vocabulary and grammar. The exercises gradually become more difficult. There are also reading exercises to learn pronunciation and intonation. I find the approach very effective for beginners at levels A1 and A2. I personally don't feel frustrated because Juan is always willing to answer questions if I don't understand something. He is patient with the students and is very knowledgeable about the grammatical aspects.

As part of a series of trainings, Juan introduced our group to the Spanish language. The coaching level is comparable to an advanced course.

Course structure
The structure of the coaching was relatively flexible. The topics were well planned and taught didactically. For example, grammatical topics were first discussed, which were then consolidated using examples.

Content
The content of the lessons was often based on examples. This allowed participants to take an active role and made what they learned easy to understand. Some of the examples used were very topical and encouraged participants to express their opinions, which encouraged proactive participation. Juan often used the discussion format as an effective learning tool. Often the course consisted of conveying information through a video or a short article, which was followed by a discussion in Spanish. This helped significantly to better understand certain elements and vocabulary.

Format
The coaching was carried out very consistently, mostly online, but also partly in person. Overall, the content and format were very coherent and complemented each other, so that a clear red thread was recognizable. As a result, the learning success was clearly noticeable.

, Juan's activities as a Spanish coach are highly appreciated. He made a significant contribution to the course by helping us grow together and improve our Spanish. In particular, the use of multimodal media and current topics as examples contributed to a lively and instructive experience. Therefore, Juan receives a clear recommendation to continue working as a Spanish coach.

I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for Juan, who has organized and led the Spanish coaching sessions for the past 14 months. His dedication and dedication to providing us all with a valuable learning experience is truly admirable.

Not only did he take the initiative to organize a coaching program with several groups, but he also took on the role of the trainer and shared his knowledge and expertise with us in a patient and motivating way. His passion for teaching and his willingness to go above and beyond to ensure we all had the support we needed to succeed are truly inspiring. Thanks to his efforts, many of us have been able to improve our language skills and now feel more confident in Spanish communication.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from such a dedicated and motivated colleague. His departure leaves a noticeable void, and it will be difficult to find someone who can replace his passion and commitment to teaching.
